Wendy Scalinger Tribute Tournament

As many of you will be aware tennis club stalwart Wendy Scalinger passed away just before Christmas.

Wendy was a tennis member at Sheen Lawn since the 1970's and served as Ladies captain for many years as well as being a  director of the club. Her name adorns the honours boards in the hall as a past winner of both singles and doubles championships and she was selected to play in the Four Nations senior tournaments and on one occasion was the captain of the England team whilst also playing regularly for Nottinghamshire County.

In her memory we are organising a small tournament on Sunday January 19th from 14:00 to 16:00 with drinks after in the bar. Tournament participants are being asked to pay a registration fee of £10 which will be donated to her family's chosen charity - The Princess Alice hospice.

Hopefully as many of you as possible will want to join in but even if you can't play tennis on the day, all members are very welcome to pop into the club for drinks from 16:00 where you will also be able to donate to help a great cause if you wish.
