Club Rules

Visitors

Visitors may play at the club if they have been introduced by and accompanied by a tennis member or if they are a client of one of our coaches. No visitor may play as a guest more than three times in any calendar year.
When bringing a visitor to the club please ensure that you pay the guest fee to the office (currently £5 per playing session).

Admission

Please park in Fife Road.

There are plenty of racks for bicycles.

Please wheel your bike past the small gate by the squash courts rather than ride it through this narrow passage.

Dogs on leads are allowed on the premises but may be asked to leave if they cause a disturbance

Court booking rules

THREE courts can be booked for matches at any one time.  Courts may be booked only for a club or LTA approved singles or doubles match.  (For example, a SLTC external team match, a “surrey postal” match, club tennis league or a club tournament match).

Exceptions:

1.       AEGON Team tennis matches require four courts for singles play and four courts may be booked for these matches, but not before 12 noon.

2.      A court may be booked for an internal box league match but not during the Saturday and Sunday morning mix ins. It may be played before these times or after but if started and not finished the court must be vacated by 11am on Saturday and 10:30 am on Sunday. It is important that internal Box League matches are not played during times of social mix in.

3.      Courts may not be booked by adults on Fridays between 5.30pm and 7pm as juniors get preferential court access at this time.  Juniors, however, may book up to three courts at this time for LTA approved matches, as above.

4.      Three courts are booked for use by off peak members on the first Friday of every month between 9am and 11.30am.

Courts may temporarily be booked on 3 dates for an external match for the short period between offering dates to the opposition and the opposition confirming their choice of dates.   Under no other circumstances may courts be booked on different dates for the same match  (e.g. for an internal club championship match, in case the match is rained off on the first date).

Clothing

We ask that members wear recognised tennis clothing on court with tennis socks and tennis shoes (no heels, studs or ribbing on the soles.
No black uppers or black soles in order to protect the courts).

Clothes which are wholly or mainly covered in stripes or floral patterns, Football/rugby tops, training vests, cut-down jeans (denim) beachwear and non-sports shorts etc are not acceptable.
