Mark Cullington and Brian Thomlinson went on a squash tour to Malta on the weekend of the 19th April 2013 to mark the Squash Club's 40th celebrations.
Their efforts have been organised to join a larger contingent consisting of members of the Honorable Artillery Company Squash Club.
According to Brian the trip was a great success and should be repeated next year.
Regular group coaching sessions led by Roshan Mawar take place throughout the season. See Coaching/Squash for further details
A visit from Willie Boon is now an established feature in the Sheen Squash calendar. Willie, an ex racquets world champion and no mean squash player, usually delights in putting us all to the metaphorical sword, and has only lost to Mark Bradley and Oliver Jones
The evening involves Willie taking on around 15 of Sheen’s finest and by dint of his skill and superior fitness running us ragged around the court so that we feel grateful if we manage more than a few points each. Willie normally visits in late January and after the on court thrashings, continues to entertain us in the bar, particularly with his rendition of Hilaire Beloc’s “ The boy who threw stones”.
We look forward to next years event.
